WASHINGTON, DC (June 22, 2026) —Center for Strong Public Schools Action Fund (CSPS Action Fund DC) congratulates the winners of the District’s primary election.  The organization looks forward to partnering with these leaders to ensure every student in Washington, DC attends a high-quality public school.

Specifically, the organization extends its congratulations to:

• Janeese Lewis George, Democratic nominee for Mayor of the District of Columbia
• Robert White, Democratic nominee for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives
• Brian Schwalb, Democratic nominee for DC Attorney General
• Phil Mendelson, Democratic nominee for DC Council Chairman
• Oye Owolewa, Democratic nominee for DC Council At-Large 
• Elissa Silverman, winner of the Independent At-Large DC Council special election
• Aparna Raj, Democratic nominee for DC Council Ward 1

We are especially proud to have endorsed Phil Mendelson, Zachary Parker, and Charles Allen, whose leadership and commitment to strong public schools have earned the support of voters across the city.

“We also thank every candidate that stepped forward to serve. Running for office is not easy. It requires dedication and sacrifice, and by sharing their vision for the future and engaging voters on ways to improve our city, democracy is strengthened. 

“As we look beyond Election Day, we remain committed to partnering with all elected officials, students, educators, families, and community leaders to build on DC’s progress to ensure that every child attends stronger public schools with greater opportunities to succeed.”
